Paige and Alberto Del Rio deserve their own reality show. We previously reported on Del Rio’s stabbing, which has come into question, along with him being a no show at an AAA event where he was headlining. Now, the drama is in Paige’s court again; she has been suspended for 60 days for her second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. Paige failed her first test for not being at home during the time she was scheduled to be tested, resulting in an official suspension on August 17, 2016.
There is no official word yet on what caused this suspension, but Paige tweeted “Same shit different day. Kids…please don’t get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable.” and “Rules apply depending on your status.” If Paige is suspended one more time for a violation, her contract with WWE will be terminated.
This is purely speculation, but one has to wonder if Paige purposely got herself suspended and plans on doing it once more in order to have the contract terminated. Her relationship with Del Rio has caused countless problems with herself and WWE management, so this could be a way of her escaping her long contract. We will continue to provide updates to this story as they become available.

The stabbing incident involving Alberto El Patron, formerly Alberto Del Rio of WWE, keeps getting stranger. We already reported that Del Rio was a no show to the Heroes Immortales X AAA event on Sunday, October 2nd due to this assault in San Antonio, Texas. The report states that Del Rio was stabbed several times in the head and arm by a man on Saturday, October 1st after this man hit Del Rio’s car with his own. Del Rio and the other driver both exited their vehicles, exchanged heated words, which led to the man pulling out a knife. Del Rio reportedly tried to leave, but was stabbed from behind. The two ended up on the ground where Del Rio was able to disarm them man, who then fled in his vehicle. Witnesses were able to record the assailant’s license plate and call the police.
Here is where things get a little sketchy. According to both Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio and Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, the San Antonio police department has no record of this attack. This is not to say that the attack didn’t happen, just that the police definitely were not notified as previously reported. The fact that the mystery assailant has not been named in spite of a license plate allegedly being recorded adds credibility to Meltzer’s and Satin’s claim.
Another hiccup in this stabbing story is that Del Rio reported to a Mexican media outlet that his girlfriend, WWE Superstar Paige, was present during this attack. According to the report, Paige tried to assist and was thrown to the ground by the assailant. When Del Rio went to ensure she was uninjured, the man fled in his car. By itself, this isn’t a big deal, but Del Rio claimed that the reason he was a no call/no show for AAA on Sunday was because his phone was lost during the attack. If Paige was present, surely she could have loaned her boyfriend her own phone to make the call.
There was also some speculation that Del Rio was in Texas for reasons related to WWE, seeing as how the Royal Rumble will be returning there for the first time in 20 years. This is a complete coincidence and there is no reason to assume that Del Rio has somehow mended fences with WWE and will be returning; he has ended that professional relationship for the foreseeable future. We will continue to provide updates to this story as they become available.

It would seem only obvious with the brand split and apparent mental implosion of Paige–and virtual unreliability of several of the other WWE female wrestlers on E!–that Nikki and Brie Bella (real names: Stephanie and Brianna Garcia-Colace) would get their own spinoff show. The Bella Twins, recently named Female Athletes of the Year by the Teen Choice Awards, are a staple within WWE. Although not very skilled within the ring, their marketable personas helped to to catapult the recent revolution of female wrestling within WWE. They can sell merchandise and are likable by kids and women. And for that, WWE is capitalizing on their brand to get further exposure.
Their personal lives can, on the surface, seem very enthralling. Nikki is dating WWE Superstar John Cena. And Brie is married to beloved, semi-retired Daniel Bryan. That in and of itself would make watching the show at least potentially interesting at times. Add to the fact that their mom is married to Johnny Ace and you can raise some eyebrows. Yes, their step-father is John Laurinaitis. While the show itself isn’t necessarily self-perpetuating, just their average daily lives should be enough to give E! network a solid 3-4 seasons before they get desperate and start madly scripting nonsense.
While most wresting fans, and certainly WWE’s key demographic, could care less about this sort of programming, it is good exposure for WWE to reach out and try and nab some female viewers. With the “success” of Keeping up with the Kardashians, it would seem Total Bellas is a sure fire hit that will be on TV for more seasons than it should. Total Bellas premieres tonight at 8:00PM EST on the E! network. This Sunday, Nikki Bella will face Carmella at No Mercy, live on the WWE Network.

Alberto Del Rio was a no-show on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at AAA Heroes Inmortales X in Mexico. He was spotted in Orlando over the weekend, which sparked rumors that he had secretly signed with TNA Impact Wrestling and would surprise debut on Bound for Glory, but this obviously did not happen. Del Rio was likely only in the area to visit girlfriend, Paige. Del Rio was supposed to compete in the main event of AAA’s live event in Monterrey, Mexico; he was to be in a tag match with Psycho Clown and face Dr. Wagner Jr. and Pagano.
Lucha Libre AAA WorldWide announced that for reasons outside of their control, Alberto El Patron was a no-show, despite having confirmed his appearance the morning of the event. Their official statement was “We regret the lack of commitment of Alberto, as he fails to Mexican public that has supported him throughout his career, to turn it into one of the leading figures of wrestling in Mexico and internationally. For Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, it is important to offer the best shows of international quality, in addition to strengthening the Mexican wrestling is the best in the world and is a fundamental part of the culture of our country.”
On his instagram account, Del Rio stated the following: “Mr. Rodriguez (“Alberto El Patron”) shortly after eating a meal before his flight was assaulted by a criminal with a knife outside the restaurant. Mr. Rodriguez suffered multiple lacerations on his arm and other parts of his body defending against the criminal as Police were called by witnesses. Mr. Rodriguez received medical attention and went back to the Police Department and was unable to make his flight. Mr. Rodriguez has spoken with the ownership of Lucha Libre AAA World Wide and given them documentation of the incident. Mr. Rodriguez greatly regrets not being there yesterday for his fans in Mexico and promises to everyone he will make this up as soon as possible. Despite the graphic lacerations Mr. Rodriguez will not miss any of his shows for the remainder of the year and is ready to compete this weekend in the UK.” This was accompanied by a photo of cuts to Del Rio’s head and arm.
This isn’t the first time Del Rio has been attacked. When he was performing for the World Wrestling Council Show (WWC) at the Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum in Bayamon, Puerto Rico in December of 2015, he was attacked by a fan who attempted to use wrestling moves on him. Del Rio was leaving the ring to take a breather during his match, and as he neared the barrier, a fan attacked him. Security intervened and pulled Del Rio to safety. We hope Del Rio recovers quickly and can fulfill his obligations to AAA.

Greetings, pro-wrestling fans! This has been a very interesting week in the world of sports entertainment! We shit the bed on Monday and Tuesday and missed our weekly Raw and Smackdown Live episodes. Our sincere apologies. Our laptop bit the bullet and left us stranded. We had to improvise most of the week but we are finally back and better than ever! So here’s what you may have missed this week in wrestling.
— The late, great Mr. Fuji got his own Collection added to the WWE Network featuring his work as a solo competitor, tag partner, and manager. Alberto Del Rio officially got released by the WWE. Fans around the world were left wondering if his girlfriend, WWE Superstar Paige, was transitioning out of the company as well. The beloved fan favorites American Alpha took their tag team antics to Sportscenter’s Off The Top Rope Wednesday night to discuss their start as partners, amateur careers, and future as a team. The Coach kept it light and it was just a likable interview for the pair of future Smackdown Tag Team Champions.
— Wednesday night gave us some serious wrestling action as NXT saw four matches during the hour long broadcast including: Shinsuke Nakamura, Austin Aries, Ember Moon, and TM61. It was a fun show and the Full Sail Crowd was lively. Read all about it HERE. Following NXT, the WWE Network gave us the final round of quarter-final matches for the Cruiserweight Classic. Zack Sabre Jr. took on Noam Dar and T.J. Perkins wrestled Rich Swann. It was two more classic matches for the CWC and set the stage for next week’s live two hour finale. See who made the Final Four in our full review.
— Thursday Night! I knew you’d come! Yes, TNA brought us a brand new episode of Impact Wrestling. And yes, Broken Matt Hardy treated the entire world to another fantastically epic moment in pro-wrestling history. Decay (Rosemary, Abyss, Crazzy Steve) invaded Cameron, North Carolina and tried to steal King Maxell. It was one for the history books as Decay or Delete gave us more fireworks, more green mist, and more insane Hardy moments than ever before. And if that wasn’t enough, Gail Kim tagged with Jade, the King of the Mountain Championship was retired, and The Miracle got an opponent for Bound For Glory. Don’t hesitate to read all about #ImpactOnPOP!
— AXSTV brought us some killer tag team action on Friday’s new episode of New Japan Pro Wrestling. It was worth watching and featured some of Japan’s biggest names. Read all about the phenomenal hour long broadcast HERE. We don’t typically cover UFC on here, but we did this past Saturday as UFC 203 saw the debut of former WWE World Champion CM Punk in the octagon. Unfortunately it was a brutal first fight. Mickey Gall tapped Punk out in the first round. We covered the event briefly HERE.
— And of course, last night Smackdown Live presented the 2016 Backlash pay-per-view. It was a premiere event and was arguably one of the best live WWE Network shows put on so far this year. We crowned a first time ever Smackdown Women’s Champion, first time ever Smackdown Tag Team Champions, and both the Intercontinental and World titles were defended. Who won? Who retained? Well, you don’t think we’re gonna give that information away here do ya?! You have to go read our article with full match results and feedback. That’s all for now. See you tonight for Monday Night Raw!

It seems like WWE talent Paige can’t catch a break. In the latest development in her ongoing troubles, it has been reported that WWE’s Mark Carrano has made efforts to split up Paige and boyfriend Alberto Del Rio. Carrano, who works in talent relations and has been on numerous episodes of Total Divas, was allegedly approaching Del Rio and Paige individually, harassing them about their relationship.
The harassment went so far that WWE reportedly threatened to fire Paige if she did not end the relationship with Del Rio. Sending Paige to Raw and Del Rio to Smackdown was specifically done to strain the relationship and the threats of termination were said to have followed shortly afterwards.
Paige is still serving out the remainder of her 30 day suspension, and Del Rio has terminated his contract with WWE, but the relationship could still cause issues. Paige will be featured on the new season of Total Divas, which has begun filming, and hanging around Del Rio could still cause issues when it comes to reality show storylines. It also can’t be good for a strong employer/employee relationship to threaten someone over who they choose to spend their private time with. We hope Paige can stay strong and focus on her career during this trying time.

As we’ve covered, Alberto Del Rio is currently serving his first 30 day suspension, along with girlfriend Paige, due to a violation of WWE’s wellness policy. His name was pulled from all upcoming live events earlier today, including events that come when his suspension is over. This evening, Del Rio opted out of his contract and is done with WWE for good.
On August 7, 2014, Del Rio was fired from WWE due to unprofessional conduct. This came from an altercation with an employee who allegedly made a racist joke either to or around Del Rio, causing him to act inappropriately. Following his departure, he went to wrestle for Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion, The World Wrestling Council, Wrestle-1, Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore VII show, the World Wrestling League, Ring of Honor, and Lucha Underground under the name Alberto El Patron.
Del Rio made his return to WWE at the Hell In A Cell PPV in 2015 with Zeb Colter as his manager, where he defeated John Cena for the United States Championship. This began the strange MexAmerica storyline. In November, Del Rio joined the League Of Nations, aligning with Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Rusev. The League disbanded in April of this year, and since then, Del Rio has not been involved in a significant storyline.
Del Rio said in an interview that he has three to five years of wrestling left in him and he hoped that they would be spent with WWE, but bad booking and his unhappiness with his girlfriend drafted to a different brand may have been the final nails in the coffin. It’s likely he will continue to wrestle under the El Patron name, and we will post updates on his bookings as they become available.

We recently brought you news on the rumored Wellness Violation that hung over Sasha Banks’ head. Fans will be happy to know that there was no truth to that rumor, but unfortunately our former women’s champion is dealing with a back injury. Banks is scheduled for an evaluation with doctors due to the pain she is dealing with in the lower lumbar area of her back. The official word is still out, but we hear that she will not require surgery and should be back in action within the next few weeks.
Not so lucky is our first Universal Champion, Finn Balor. His shoulder was injured during his Summerslam match against Seth Rollins when Balor absorbed a running power bomb to the barricade. His shoulder dislocated, and Balor popped it right back in and continued the match. The MRI that followed showed a possible labrum tear, which will require surgery and have Balor out of action for 4 to 6 months. This truly could not have come at a worse time for Balor, who was really taking off on the main roster.
Speaking of Summerslam, Brock Lesnar treated us to an ending worthy of the octagon, as he wailed on Randy Orton, hitting him with hard punches and elbows that resulted in Orton being left in a puddle of his own blood. Orton required ten staples to close the laceration on his forehead. There is a lot of speculation on whether or not Lesnar went too far with his attack, but we’ll leave that to you to decide.
NXT’s Samoa Joe suffered a dislocated jaw during his title match with our new NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Joe was hit with two Kinshasa knee strikes, causing the dislocation of his mandible. Joe tweeted out that his jaw was dislocated, relocated, and he looks forward to being cleared soon. The severity of the injury is still unknown, so we’re not sure when we’ll see him back in action.
Also still out of action is Luke Harper, who suffered a knee injury and underwent successful surgery, Sting, who suffered a neck injury, Emma, who underwent back surgery, and Tyson Kidd who suffered a neck injury and underwent successful surgery. There is no timetable for any of their returns. Paige is also suffering neck and back injuries that she is personally working to strengthen. She is currently suspended due to a Wellness Policy Violation, so we may or may not see her back in the ring when the suspension lifts. We wish everyone a speedy recovery and will bring you updates as they become available.

This article is going to be a long one. So much happened in pro-wrestling this week! We’ll start with the rumors and news first. TNA Impact Wrestling original, The Cowboy, James Storm reportedly is unhappy with his place in the company. He’s been seemingly agitated because all his friends are leaving for greener pastures and he’s stuck dealing with Dixie Carter and company. We reported earlier this week that he might be leaving TNA in the very near future.
–WWE saw the suspension of three of its Superstars during this past week. All Red Everything, Eva Marie, was suspended after reportedly testing positive for Adderall, a controlled susbtance used for the treatment of ADHD. WWE also suspended Alberto Del Rio and Paige for both testing positive for different substances after a night of partying. Our article on that suspension can be read HERE.
–Monday Night Raw kicked off the week, with their go-home programming. It was uneventful to say the least and really didn’t help garner excitement for SummerSlam. Most notably, it completely burned Finn Balor’s Demon King entrance on a free show instead of waiting for Sunday. Brock Lesnar got an interesting opponent, but otherwise, rough night. Check out our full review HERE.
–Tuesday’s Smackdown Live didn’t go much better. Featuring 12-man tag match that would happen again at SummerSlam. Eva Marie failed to wrestle, again. And John Cena takes on Alberto Del Rio for about the 500th time. Check out the full review HERE.
–As usual, business really picked up on Wednesday as NXT set the stage for Takeover: Brooklyn 2. Hideo Itami was in action, as well as six women in tag action. Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura sat down backstage in an interview with William Regal. Our article about the episode can be read HERE.
–The second round of the Cruiserweight Classic continued afterwards with another set of amazing matches. Japan’s Akira Tozawa took on England’s Jack Gallagher in one of the best bouts of the tournament so far. Later, Brian Kendrick and Tony Nese (both from the United States) put on an absolute clinic wrestling match. It had it all; brutality, story-telling, cheating, heel work, high-fly moves, and everything in between. Read all about it HERE.
–Dixe Carter gave us yet another excellent TNA Impact Wrestling broadcast on Thursday. We saw an Ascension to Hell tag team ladder match. Moose and Eddie Edwards went one on one. Ethan Carter III and Drew Galloway got a surprise guest ref. And Billy Corgan suspended somebody! Check out all the action right over HERE.
–Friday night was jam packed with NJPW action. AXSTV gave us a new episode which you can read about right HERE. That same night, Ring of Honor presented Death Before Dishonor XIV, featuring their own roster taking on NJPW legends in what was an epic start to the weekend. Jay Lethal put his title on the line against Adam Cole, Dalton Castle went toe-to-toe with Kazuchika Okada, and The Briscoes each gave us an epic battle in singles competition. It was one for the record books and was a wonderful show. Read all about it HERE.
–The WWE Network gave us NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II on Saturday night, and the atmosphere was electrified. No Way Jose took on Austin Aries, the mysterious Ember Moon had her long-awaited debut, Bobby Roode took on Andrade “Cien” Almas, Bayley tried to become the first 2-time NXT Women’s Champion, and Samoa Joe put his gold on the line against Shinsuke Nakamura in an epic slugfest. This one had it all, and if you missed it, that’s a shame. Read the full results and our review HERE.
–SummerSlam rounded out the week of programming, it what was billed as a six hour event. The preshow started at five and that had three matches before the actual pay-per-view even got started. Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton went to war, as did John Cena and AJ Styles. Seth Rollins and Finn Balor battled to be the first WWE Universal Champion. And Dean Ambrose defended his belt against Dolph Ziggler. We also saw several tag matches, and Sasha Banks taking on Charlotte. Unfortunately, for my $9.99 it just wasn’t enough and the whole program felt flat. Read ever match results as well as feedback for the entire show HERE.
That’s it for last week. Tune in tonight as we live tweet Monday Night Raw and post our feedback for that as well. Let us know in the comments below what your favorite show, match, and moment of the past week was in the comments below. Have a good day, wrestling fans!

Our Women’s Championship match came in the first hour of Summerslam, where champion Sasha Banks lost her title to challenger Charlotte. She was able to roll Banks onto her shoulders, turning the Banks Statement into a pin. After the match, Sasha Banks was removed from upcoming live event listings and house shows. The rumor is that a 30 day suspension will be handed down to Banks tomorrow. As of the time of this writing, no suspension has been made official.
Banks is rumored to have failed the wellness test for a currently unknown substance. She will join fellow wrestlers Alberto Del Rio and girlfriend Paige, and Eva Marie who were all suspended for wellness policy violations. Eva Marie’s failure was due to Adderall, which she plans to appeal with proof of a prescription. Del Rio and Paige’s reason for failure is unknown, but it is said that they failed for different substances.
Sasha Banks was on a serious roll in her career. Her victory on Raw over Charlotte to begin her first Women’s Title run was a match to remember. She proved that she was a confident champion in her interviews afterwards, and was able to beat Dana Brooke to ensure her Summerslam match would be one-on-one. It is very disappointing to learn of this violation, and we wish Banks the best and look forward to her return. If this is just a rumor, than we still question the decision to have her drop the title after less than a month. Some say it’s because she wants time off for a honeymoon with her recent husband, but that still isn’t a reason for any of this. We’ll provide more coverage as the official word comes out.
