Paige and Alberto Del Rio deserve their own reality show. We previously reported on Del Rio’s stabbing, which has come into question, along with him being a no show at an AAA event where he was headlining. Now, the drama is in Paige’s court again; she has been suspended for 60 days for her second violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. Paige failed her first test for not being at home during the time she was scheduled to be tested, resulting in an official suspension on August 17, 2016.
There is no official word yet on what caused this suspension, but Paige tweeted “Same shit different day. Kids…please don’t get prescriptions or doctors notes. Not acceptable.” and “Rules apply depending on your status.” If Paige is suspended one more time for a violation, her contract with WWE will be terminated.
This is purely speculation, but one has to wonder if Paige purposely got herself suspended and plans on doing it once more in order to have the contract terminated. Her relationship with Del Rio has caused countless problems with herself and WWE management, so this could be a way of her escaping her long contract. We will continue to provide updates to this story as they become available.

It seems like WWE talent Paige can’t catch a break. In the latest development in her ongoing troubles, it has been reported that WWE’s Mark Carrano has made efforts to split up Paige and boyfriend Alberto Del Rio. Carrano, who works in talent relations and has been on numerous episodes of Total Divas, was allegedly approaching Del Rio and Paige individually, harassing them about their relationship.
The harassment went so far that WWE reportedly threatened to fire Paige if she did not end the relationship with Del Rio. Sending Paige to Raw and Del Rio to Smackdown was specifically done to strain the relationship and the threats of termination were said to have followed shortly afterwards.
Paige is still serving out the remainder of her 30 day suspension, and Del Rio has terminated his contract with WWE, but the relationship could still cause issues. Paige will be featured on the new season of Total Divas, which has begun filming, and hanging around Del Rio could still cause issues when it comes to reality show storylines. It also can’t be good for a strong employer/employee relationship to threaten someone over who they choose to spend their private time with. We hope Paige can stay strong and focus on her career during this trying time.

As we’ve covered, Alberto Del Rio is currently serving his first 30 day suspension, along with girlfriend Paige, due to a violation of WWE’s wellness policy. His name was pulled from all upcoming live events earlier today, including events that come when his suspension is over. This evening, Del Rio opted out of his contract and is done with WWE for good.
On August 7, 2014, Del Rio was fired from WWE due to unprofessional conduct. This came from an altercation with an employee who allegedly made a racist joke either to or around Del Rio, causing him to act inappropriately. Following his departure, he went to wrestle for Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion, The World Wrestling Council, Wrestle-1, Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore VII show, the World Wrestling League, Ring of Honor, and Lucha Underground under the name Alberto El Patron.
Del Rio made his return to WWE at the Hell In A Cell PPV in 2015 with Zeb Colter as his manager, where he defeated John Cena for the United States Championship. This began the strange MexAmerica storyline. In November, Del Rio joined the League Of Nations, aligning with Sheamus, Wade Barrett and Rusev. The League disbanded in April of this year, and since then, Del Rio has not been involved in a significant storyline.
Del Rio said in an interview that he has three to five years of wrestling left in him and he hoped that they would be spent with WWE, but bad booking and his unhappiness with his girlfriend drafted to a different brand may have been the final nails in the coffin. It’s likely he will continue to wrestle under the El Patron name, and we will post updates on his bookings as they become available.

We recently brought you news on the rumored Wellness Violation that hung over Sasha Banks’ head. Fans will be happy to know that there was no truth to that rumor, but unfortunately our former women’s champion is dealing with a back injury. Banks is scheduled for an evaluation with doctors due to the pain she is dealing with in the lower lumbar area of her back. The official word is still out, but we hear that she will not require surgery and should be back in action within the next few weeks.
Not so lucky is our first Universal Champion, Finn Balor. His shoulder was injured during his Summerslam match against Seth Rollins when Balor absorbed a running power bomb to the barricade. His shoulder dislocated, and Balor popped it right back in and continued the match. The MRI that followed showed a possible labrum tear, which will require surgery and have Balor out of action for 4 to 6 months. This truly could not have come at a worse time for Balor, who was really taking off on the main roster.
Speaking of Summerslam, Brock Lesnar treated us to an ending worthy of the octagon, as he wailed on Randy Orton, hitting him with hard punches and elbows that resulted in Orton being left in a puddle of his own blood. Orton required ten staples to close the laceration on his forehead. There is a lot of speculation on whether or not Lesnar went too far with his attack, but we’ll leave that to you to decide.
NXT’s Samoa Joe suffered a dislocated jaw during his title match with our new NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura. Joe was hit with two Kinshasa knee strikes, causing the dislocation of his mandible. Joe tweeted out that his jaw was dislocated, relocated, and he looks forward to being cleared soon. The severity of the injury is still unknown, so we’re not sure when we’ll see him back in action.
Also still out of action is Luke Harper, who suffered a knee injury and underwent successful surgery, Sting, who suffered a neck injury, Emma, who underwent back surgery, and Tyson Kidd who suffered a neck injury and underwent successful surgery. There is no timetable for any of their returns. Paige is also suffering neck and back injuries that she is personally working to strengthen. She is currently suspended due to a Wellness Policy Violation, so we may or may not see her back in the ring when the suspension lifts. We wish everyone a speedy recovery and will bring you updates as they become available.

Our Women’s Championship match came in the first hour of Summerslam, where champion Sasha Banks lost her title to challenger Charlotte. She was able to roll Banks onto her shoulders, turning the Banks Statement into a pin. After the match, Sasha Banks was removed from upcoming live event listings and house shows. The rumor is that a 30 day suspension will be handed down to Banks tomorrow. As of the time of this writing, no suspension has been made official.
Banks is rumored to have failed the wellness test for a currently unknown substance. She will join fellow wrestlers Alberto Del Rio and girlfriend Paige, and Eva Marie who were all suspended for wellness policy violations. Eva Marie’s failure was due to Adderall, which she plans to appeal with proof of a prescription. Del Rio and Paige’s reason for failure is unknown, but it is said that they failed for different substances.
Sasha Banks was on a serious roll in her career. Her victory on Raw over Charlotte to begin her first Women’s Title run was a match to remember. She proved that she was a confident champion in her interviews afterwards, and was able to beat Dana Brooke to ensure her Summerslam match would be one-on-one. It is very disappointing to learn of this violation, and we wish Banks the best and look forward to her return. If this is just a rumor, than we still question the decision to have her drop the title after less than a month. Some say it’s because she wants time off for a honeymoon with her recent husband, but that still isn’t a reason for any of this. We’ll provide more coverage as the official word comes out.

The Barclays center in New York City will be hosting this year’s Summerslam, starting at 7pm with a two hour preshow beginning at 5pm. Former Daily Show host, Jon Stewart, will be the special celebrity guest and will likely provide comic relief and at least one awkward run-in with Seth Rollins. This is the first PPV since the brand split, but the matches are nearly all Raw vs Raw or Smackdown vs Smackdown. Every title is on the line, and we will finally get to see the brand new Universal Title. Let’s take a look at the massive card and make some predictions.
Cesaro vs Sheamus – First Match in the Best of Seven Series (Preshow Kickoff)
On the go-home Raw on Monday, Mick Foley announced that these two enemies would have a best of seven series to finally bury their beef. I still have yet to decide how I feel about this series. Seven matches ahead, when we have already seen two, will have the potential to get real stale really fast. I hope that we get stipulated matches in the future, as the Summerslam match is a straight singles match. The first win in a series will give the victor bragging rights and a slight edge on their competitor, which both men obviously will be battling for. Cesaro and Sheamus are both extremely talented, so I hope they are on their A game.
F2H Prediction – Sheamus
Sami Zayn and Neville vs The Dudley Boyz – Tag Team Match (Preshow Kickoff)
Since returning to action after an injury, Neville has yet to find himself in a decent storyline or feud. Sami Zayn is done with Kevin Owens, at least for now, and is looking to move on. The Dudley Boyz are veteran wrestlers who have no problem taking a backseat to the younger talent in order to give them a push or help them along in a current storyline. They have lost more matches than they’ve won since their heel turn, and their once sure thing for the tag titles has become a very distant memory. This match will be all about Zayn and Neville, and I hope they take full advantage.
F2H Prediction – Sami Zayn and Neville
American Alpha (Jason Jordan and Chad Gable), The Hype Bros (Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder), The Usos vs Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango), The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor), The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) – 12 Man Tag Team Match (Preshow Kickoff)
We already saw this match on Smackdown, which makes this addition a little disappointing. We’re throwing too many tag teams together into one mess of a match, where certain people will struggle for the spotlight and others will be forgotten in the background. WWE has not done its job in introducing American Alpha and The Hype Bros to the main roster audience. Those who don’t watch NXT are missing out on knowing Jason Jordan and Chad Gable, and don’t fully appreciate the pairing of Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder. It’s a shame, but I hope they rectify it.
F2H Prediction – American Alpha, The Hype Bros, The Usos
Carmella, Becky Lynch, Naomi vs Natalya, Alexa Bliss – Six Woman Tag Match
This match was put together on the go home episode of Smackdown. Eva Marie was meant to compete with Natalya and Bliss, but was suspended for 30 days on August 18th after violating the WWE’s wellness policy. This is a great opportunity for Alexa Bliss and Carmella to introduce themselves to the large chunk of the audience who isn’t familiar with NXT and don’t know their characters. Bliss and Carmella went back to their roots on Wednesday to complete in another six woman tag on NXT, which I hope the main roster audience had a chance to see. We have five incredible athletes (and a sixth still unnamed as of the time of this writing) that are capable of doing a lot more than we’ve had the chance to see on the main roster. I hope tonight is their night.
F2H Prediction – Carmella, Becky Lynch, and Naomi
The Miz (c) vs Apollo Crews – Intercontinental Championship Match
I absolutely love The Miz as champ. He’s shady, underhanded, and conceited. He weasels his way into victories and isn’t bothered at all if he isn’t winning clean. Apollo Crews is the exact opposite of his opponent. He is honest, positive, and a team player through and through. Maryse will no doubt be ringside, giving Miz the edge, as Crews will be going it solo. I don’t expect a fair fight whatsoever. You simply don’t get that with The Miz, so Crews is going to have to play it safe and keep his eyes open. He will have to watch Maryse while also fighting his opponent, and he’ll have to ensure Miz doesn’t try to cause a DQ by throwing him into the ref or placing a weapon in his vicinity. Apollo Crews will shine, regardless of the outcome; he definitely earned and deserves this title shot.
F2H Prediction – The Miz
Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens – Tag Team Match
I’m not a fan of Chris Jericho (go easy on me, hardcore fans) but I appreciate the person he is and the work that he does. That said, I am really enjoying him when paired with Kevin Owens. Owens and Enzo are two of the best trash talkers on the roster, so a war of words between the two is gold no matter what. Jericho and Owens have adjusted their style to act slightly more comedic, making them a better match for Enzo and Cass. This feud has been entertaining since the moment it started and will make for a fantastic tag match tonight. I hope we eventually get to see Enzo and Cass put into the Tag Title picture where they belong. How you doin?
F2H Prediction – Enzo and Big Cass
The New Day (c) vs The Club – Tag Team Championship Match
Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will be fighting Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows without Big E, as he is nursing an injury to his man bits. I do hope that Big E will be present, but he has only been with us via Twitter lately. Anderson and Gallows have been utilizing a brilliant doctor gimmick, complete with every testicle pun you can possibly think of. They have Big E’s manhood in a jar, and have two smaller jars ready for Kingston and Woods. The New Day are the longest reigning WWE Tag Team champions as of July 20th and show no signs of giving up the titles. Their biggest competition on Raw, other than The Club, would be Enzo and Cass or Jeri-KO (if their tag team stays together). Golden Truth are more comic relief than anything else, and The Shining Stars are yet another failed gimmick for Primo and Epico. I am worried about New Day’s situation without Big E, and eager to see what this means for their title match.
F2H Prediction – The Club
John Cena vs AJ Styles – Singles Match
My favorite thing is to watch Styles BEAT UP JOHN CENA! It’s nice to see Cena out of the title picture and involved with someone who is a serious veteran in the business instead of a new talent who is still trying to find their footing. This absolutely must be a clean match for Styles with no assistance whatsoever from The Club. Win or lose, he needs to ensure he keeps this one-on-one. John Cena is one of my least favorite people; I get that he does a lot of good in the world and kids love him, but he’s just not my cup of tea, guys. I’m beyond ready to see “the face that runs the place” go part time and let someone else take the reins. I don’t know if Styles is that guy or not, but it’s a good place to start.
F2H Prediction – AJ Styles
Sasha Banks (c) vs Charlotte – Women’s Championship Match
Finally, The Boss holds the gold! Sasha Banks has had one hell of a journey from NXT to the main roster to finally becoming WWE Women’s Champion. Even Charlotte had to briefly break character on Raw and smile when she saw her friend holding the title high above her head. Dana Brooke is banned from ringside tonight, so Charlotte won’t have her lackey to go to for help in winning back the title. Unless she has some other tricks in mind or another person waiting in the wings, she is going to have to win or lose this match all on her own. These two women are huge talents and deserve every bit of success. They will ensure that you don’t use this match as the “beer run/bathroom break;” this will be a must see.
F2H Prediction – Sasha Banks
Brock Lesnar vs Randy Orton – Singles Match
Lesnar and Orton were the first to overstep their boundaries and show up on the shows that they were not drafted to. Orton snuck onto Raw to deliver an RKO to the beast, and Lesnar invaded Smackdown to seek his revenge. I wish they had saved that for much later, but what’s done is done. This is Viperville versus Suplex City, a match fifteen years in the making. The promos leading up to this match have been fantastic and portray both men as unstoppable forces. I’m always excited to see Lesnar fight, and very happy that Orton is finally back from injury. I would like to see Lesnar turn an RKO attempt into an F5, and for Orton to get creative with his RKOs outta nowhere. This should be a brutal match; I hope both men bring it.
F2H Prediction – Brock Lesnar
Rusev (c) vs Roman Reigns – United States Championship Match
Roman Reigns failed a drug test, got himself suspended for 30 days, became the butt of Seth Rollins’ jokes during his suspension, and got himself removed from the WWE Heavyweight title picture. His push isn’t completely in the can though, since he has a chance to win the United States title off of Rusev. Our current champion recently married the lovely Lana in a ceremony that was filmed for Total Divas. They will have a separate ceremony overseas next month. Rusev has been an unstoppable champion, but unfortunately, most of his feuds devolve into USA vs Russia when they have the potential to be so much more. I’m not big on Reigns as he is right now; I miss the strong and silent, less showy wrestler he was with The Shield. Whatever happens during this match, I hope Lana avoids being caught in the crossfire.
F2H Prediction – Rusev
Dean Ambrose (c) vs Dolph Ziggler – WWE World Championship Match
I can’t believe that Dolph Ziggler is actually in this match! He once held the World Heavyweight title after one of the greatest Money In The Bank cash-ins in history, but fell down quite a few notches thanks to his criticism of the company and disapproval from the powers that be. Ziggler delivered an amazing promo on the go home episode of Raw; it was the best he has sounded in quite some time. Dean Ambrose is a very unconventional champion, but you can’t help but like the guy. He’s unpredictable, but has been getting more in touch with his serious side ever since winning the gold. I’m a big fan of both of these men, so this is a win-win situation for me; regardless of the outcome, I’m happy with the champion.
F2H Prediction – Dolph Ziggler
Finn Balor vs Seth Rollins – WWE Universal Championship Match
I am fangirling all over the place over this match! A lot of people are upset that the Demon King reveal was “wasted” on Raw, but we’ve already seen how unfamiliar the main roster audience is with most of the NXT roster and gimmicks, so this was a way of introducing everyone to him and getting them hyped for what is to come at Summerslam. Yes, it would have been better to save the reveal, but I see the logic behind the decision. Seth Rollins is a fantastic champ, but so is Finn Balor. This is another win-win for me because I love both guys and would enjoy seeing either as champion. It’s so exciting to see Balor on the main roster, plus in the title picture so soon, plus facing Rollins! This match alone is worth you signing up for the Network immediately. I’m so happy for Balor for his call up to the main roster and am thrilled to see him battle such a great competitor in Rollins.
F2H Prediction – Finn Balor
Be sure to follow us on Twitter, as we will be providing live coverage and will be posting instant feedback immediately following the PPV. Just when you thought things were safe, WWE announced via Twitter that Eva Marie has been suspended for 30 days due to a violation of the Wellness Policy. Like Paige, who was suspended yesterday along with boyfriend Alberto Del Rio, this is Eva’s first violation of the policy. This will take Eva out of the six woman tag team match at Summerslam this weekend.
Eva Marie was drafted to Smackdown, but has yet to compete due to kayfabe injuries, wardrobe malfunctions, and traffic delays. There was a chance that WWE had a storyline in place to keep her from even competing this weekend in order to put more heat on her, but we’ll never know for sure now. The rumored plan was to give Eva a huge push and eventually put her into the title picture, so it will be interesting to see how this suspension affects that.
I’m not a fan of Eva, and she has been regularly criticized by many due to her lack of skills both in the ring and in promos. She had no wrestling experience when she signed with WWE and has not shown signs of improving, despite going back to NXT and spending months in training. Eva has been riding on her looks and her Total Divas stardom instead of ability and talent, so this suspension could be very damaging to her.
As of the time of this writing, there is no word on whether or not this will affect Eva Marie’s scheduled appearances this weekend for fan meet and greets, though I suspect that it may. There has also been no word from Eva herself; she has yet to address the suspension and offer any sort of apology or explanation.

We recently discussed the issues that WWE superstar Paige has been having in her personal and professional life. Things have unfortunately gotten worse for the young wrestler, as WWE announced on their Twitter account that Paige has been suspended for 30 days beginning August 18, 2016 for her first violation of the wellness policy.
A couple hours prior to this announcement, WWE announced that Paige’s boyfriend, Alberto Del Rio, had also been suspended for the same violation. This is the first violation for both wrestlers, and neither was scheduled to compete at SummerSlam this Sunday. The timing is unfortunate for Paige, as today is her 24th birthday.
Del Rio will likely exit the company this fall when his contract expires. He is said to be very unhappy with his direction in WWE. He isn’t getting used in the capacity he feels he should, and he is reportedly upset at being separated from Paige when all the other WWE couples were sent to their respective brands together (and it is reported that Emma and Nikki Bella will be sent to Smackdown with Zack Ryder and John Cena upon their returns). Online rumors state that Triple H was attempting to protect his young talent, Paige, by separating her from “bad influence” Del Rio.
Reports do not contain information on what substance the two tested positive for. Neither Paige nor Del Rio have acknowledged the suspensions as of the time of this writing. Paige has taken to social media only to thank fans for all their birthday wishes. Whatever the case may be, this new problem does not bode well for Paige and certainly does not help her already rocky situation.

It was announced earlier this month that Brock Lesnar would face Randy Orton at SummerSlam. Also, earlier this month Lesnar defeated Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in dominant fashion. A few days after the event, allegations surfaced that Lesnar was flagged by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for having banned substance in his drug test. The actual substance has yet to be released publically by the USADA, but it has led many to speculate whether or not this would jeopardize Lesnar’s participation at the SummerSlam pay-per-view in Brooklyn, New York.
When asked, the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC, which is a great acronym by the way) skirted the issue by putting out the following statement in regards to regulating Lesnar and WWE’s pro-wrestling:
‘In 2002, New York State passed legislation that scaled back the regulation of “professional wrestling” in many respects based on a recognition that the activity is entertainment rather than bona-fide athletic competition. Under current New York State law, “professional wrestling” is defined as wrestling “primarily for the purpose of providing entertainment to spectators and which does not comprise a bona fide athletic contest or competition” (NY Unconsolidated Laws section 8928-b). As such, the State does not license individual wrestlers, and Mr. Lesnar is not a licensee of the New York State Athletic Commission. In the context of “professional wrestling,” as defined above, the State licenses only the promoter, such as the WWE. Per New York law, among other health and safety requirements that apply to the licensing of a promoter, the event promoter is required to have a physician examine each wrestler and determine whether each wrestler is medically fit to participate. The question of whether Mr. Lesnar is fit to participate in a “professional wrestling” event is one that will be determined by the application of the professional medical judgment of the examining physician, the policies of the WWE, and the choices made by Mr. Lesnar with regard to his own participation leading up to the event date.’
In essence, NYSAC was saying in very convoluted terms that as long as WWE is okay with it, so are they. And since Lesnar is the cream in Vince McMahon’s pants, as well as the poster-boy for WWE2k17, it’s unlikely WWE is going to do a damn thing about it. While it’s great from a pro-wrestling fan perspective that NYSAC isn’t preventing Lesnar from participation even if he gets suspended from MMA, it does show people just how much power and influence Vince has in New York. They don’t want to rock the boat because WWE is a big economy boost in NYC and you don’t bite the hand that feeds you.

He’s not a good guy, he’s not a bad guy, he’s the drug guy. In June, following the Money in the Bank pay-per-view, Roman Reigns (real name Joe Anoa`i) was suspended for thirty days for violating WWE’s wellness policy. Rumors suggest that Reigns was found to have non-sanctioned amphetamines in his system. While not an outrageous drug, it was still without a prescription and WWE has zero tolerance for such things. WWE slapped Reigns with the suspension and was rumored to have forced him to apology publically to everyone in the locker room as well as make atonement on his social media account. His suspension came without pay so he loses an entire month’s worth of salary.
We’re long removed from the days of rampant steroid use that went on throughout the 80’s and early 90’s. But there are many different types of drugs out there and even the most recent days gone by have seen plenty of violations within the WWE. Over the past sixteen or so years many stars such as Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Chris Masters, William Regal, Dolph Ziggler, Rey Mysterio, R-Truth and even Chris Jericho have all been suspended for wellness violations. Partying and superstardom seem to go hand in hand. If the violation occurred after Money in the Bank, can we really fault Reigns for having what could possibly just be a minor street drug like ecstasy in his system? MITB was in Las Vegas after all. And he did lose the title after being booed by the crowd. Maybe the guy was just having a bad night and needed to blow off steam.
On the other side of the coin, I find myself thinking that maybe Seth Rollins has a point. Whether work or shoot, his promos as of late have been jarringly on the money. Perhaps Reigns should be punished for making a mistake like this. Maybe he should not get a title shot at Battleground along with Rollins. This triple threat match could very easily just be Rollins versus Ambrose. Further, did his violation occur before or after Money in the Bank? Was his title dropping a direct result of the wellness violation? If so, losing the title and being hit with a suspension would seem a fair punishment for the crime. I’m not sure if we should remove him from the match, especially as it’s writing on the wall for some sort of eventual Shield reunion that I’m sure WWE has planned. So maybe Rollins is a little hasty with his on screen comments. But at the same time, maybe taking Reigns out of the match and making him eat shit for the next few months would be a good deterrent for something like this ever happening again.
One thing is clear, Roman Reigns is going to be here for a long while. The company seems to like him and despite his immediate backlash, WWE seems determined to push him at us. One thing is for sure, if he has any aspirations of being the face of the company, he needs to move away from the Randy Orton route and keep himself clean. Too many wellness violations can see you packing your bags. But in this instance, it’s unlikely that this violation and subsequent suspension will spell disaster for Reigns. His career will continue on the path it was headed and WWE has probably not changed their plans for him. What do you think? Easy break for Roman Reigns or was justice served? Should he be in the title match or should he be forced to have exhibition matches with Sin Cara for the foreseeable future? Let us know your thoughts on his suspension and his future going forward in the comments below.
